Mt. Washington loses wind record

Mountaineering, rock climbing, and hiking news.

Postby maddie77777 » Wed Jan 27, 2010 3:36 pm

That stinks. I hiked up there the September that Hurricane Ike made its way from TX to NH, and was thrilled to have my first experience with Mt Washington hiking in 80mph sustained winds, with gusts over 100. I told everyone here in the flatland about the record. Oh well, 231 mph is still 231 mph, right?

Ok so once there was a faster windspeed, during a huge storm in that area of Australia. I would like to see the comparison of the mean windspeed for both areas.
