You can now bike from Crane Flat to Olmstead Point

120 is open to vehicular traffic on the east side up to the ranger station, and the road is clear far beyond that. The peaks in the area are now easily accessible for ski descents! False White had a good showing today.

Anybody been up Dana couloir lately? Curious on ski conditions, and if ski touring on the approach is doable or not or if I should plan on hiking most of it. Also - I'm assuming Saddlebag road is still closed and would require a long approach to the lake.

Been reading the usual rumor mills -- wonder if it will open tomorrow or next week. On supertopo they are saying that electricity & phone service (normally supplied from the east side) is out to the meadows, and that could take some time to restore.

According to the NPS website, it opens Saturday, June 5th at 8 a.m. If anyone is heading up there, please post pictures!

The road to Saddlebag Lakes is snow covered from Highway 120, so you'd need to skin in from there.

Can't climb a damn thing as many of the snow drifts are higher than your house. Most of the crags are not and will not be accessible for at least two, maybe three weeks.

We climbed Dana yesterday. Still lots of snow, but it's melting fast.

Saw a couple of climbers on stately pleasure dome. Most of the north facing route either has snow on it, or at the base.

Lots of water on hwy 120 as we drove home.

hey, so the snow in tuolumne- enough to make a snowshoe trip feasible/fun? Are we talking still feet and feet of snow?

With this warm weather, I think you need to pack water boots. It's going to get really muddy. Snow was soft at 9am, and really slushy in the afternoon.

Cathedral's looking pretty good to me. A little snow to start, and possibly no crowds!

Drove back to the bay area via 120 yesterday afternoon and was surprised at how much snow there still is up there. Well, not surprised .. disappointed perhaps

Pywiack looked to have snow at the base of Zee Tree, and snow on the descent ... the route looked climbable otherwise. There were a couple cars in the pullout for Daff Dome, so perhaps the south flank climbs are doable. Stately Pleasure Dome looked crowded.

I could see a snowpatch atop Lembert, but the parking / picnic area was clear and the restrooms were open. Lots of water running across the road in places.
