The second estimate assumes they are using illegal immigrants to do the coding.

I can't decide what's more interesting about that. Whether it's that you were banned 14 times or that you were counting.

The fact that you even took heed to my post reassures my point.

Actually they are doing it cheaper than that! They've created programs so that we can do the coding for free.

I was a member of another internet forum.

I got banned because I wrote a gear review that was critical of some gear made by one of the forum's sponsors. (The site owner contacted me and told me I needed to change my review, and I refused.)

When money drives all the decisions, the forum's quality eventually suffers.

I don't think that could happen here. SummitPost uses Google ads rather than dedicated advertisers. I just spent a few minutes noodling around trying to see if there is a way to advertise here and I can't find one, besides Google.

WouterB,

I'm not a financial person, so I have a couple of questions. How did you calculate the $16K figure and is that a book value or something else? Thanks.

I even contacted the owners if they would sell this place. I really was thinking and still believe some parts in the code has to change ...

I think it is for the money they would do this. If they wouldn't and really would do it for the mountains and people they would have changed this code 2 fucking years ago!

Yeah.... and then when the members don't go along with your personal whims as the owner, you simply shut it down and close access and lose all the beta which they, the members put their hard time and energy into, right Stef!

I could care less what the owners make off this site. This is America and if you don't like the what they're selling, don't buy. The fact that there isn't a lot of commercialism, fluff, bells and whistles etc is a tribute to the owners and it makes the members the vocal point. No complaints from me.

You have no business being here if you aren't going to whine and complain.
