I have a pair of those. I had my mind set on the La Sportiva Spantik with the Scarpa Phantom 6000 as a close second. But when trying them on, I noticed that the Spantik was too narrow for my feet (I have wide feet) and the Phantom seemed to always be either too big or too small (yes they did have half sizes). I tried on some plastics, but they were heavy and too rigid. I finally tried on the Baruntse and they fit me perfectly. Not to mention that they gave me some flexibility (as far as that goes with a D-type shoe. I've climbed on Elbrus and on a couple of really cold days in Switzerland. Even went ice-climbing in them (which actually went really well (but I would resole them with thinner soles if I did this more often). I have no regrets buying them at all. These also seem to be more durable than the Spantik. Something that is a nice bonus on such expensive gear.
