hopefully the messy spring will decrease the chance of wildfires throughout the Montana Rockies... seems like a bunch of locals were quite concerned about the low snowpack a few weeks ago. it'll be June before we know it!

Whatever, dude. The skiing has been awesome the last few weeks. Better than most of the winter. I say bring it!

Finally got off my lazy behind and began reworking old pages that were put up under SPv1. This particular posting, of the Mission Range's East Saint Marys Peak, is now at least a million times better than it was (and maybe even more than that)!

Shame on us Montanans! This page went up in February, and none of us thought to post the link to this GNP peak:

Eagle Plume Mountain

A very nice page!

Check 'em out!

Chief Mountain, Southwest Slope Route

by FlatheadNative » Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:02 pm

This route was just added after summitting the mountain on July 11, 2010.

Check it out if you'd like.

Chief Mountain, Southwest Slope Route

I have not included a specific approach route since there are at least four to choose from but I have briefly mentioned each of them in the route. The goal is to get to the saddle between Ninaki and Chief where the actual route begins. I have attempted to provide approximate mileage and elevation gain for each of the approaches.

I've decided to redo and hopefully "improve" some of my oldest Montana Bitterroot Mountains. The first completed one is for Bare Peak. I've added routes to the Middle and West Summits and added more and newer pictures. Check it out.
