I can invoke whomever I want. I AM the real mountaineer here. You keyboard jockeys should try to learn a thing or two from my blog.

You mean, like writing? Journalism? This word, mountaineer, I do not think it means what you think it means. I learned about your dead cat, your job, your wife, who by your accounts actually is a climber. I did not learn anything about climbing, or life, or death. You are a bitter man, without much perspective about what it means to live and play in the mountains. You epitomize the armchair mountaineer. The one who dabbles enough to know some terms, but who has yet to glean the meaning from the wind for which the rest of us yearn. Good luck, man! Go to the mountains and get their good tidings, or sit at your computer and pen hateful little diatribes about things of which you know nothing. The choice is yours.

Am I the only one skeptical that this is in fact the boy-man who wrote the article? Seems like it might be a different boy-man posing and trolling. Neither would surprise me.

well son of a gun, folks, in think i just understood the real meaning of the term tosser.

(kinda hard for us non-british folks sometimes to get our heads around the correct use of UK slang, but this one just kinda fell into place for me)

go find someone else to trash besides someone who did his damnedest in an awful situation and lost a good friend, you miserable coward.

(i expect, by the way, references and a full climbing resume to be posted to this site, mountaineer)

I assumed it was a troll. But all you have to do is search the original website, read some of the other angry jabs at non-SP people, and conclude that this fellow has some deeper self-esteem issues. There are lots of angry sites on the web, and the best thing to do is ignore them.

We were referring to the SP avatars being trolls.

That statement alone tells what quality of "mountaineer" we are talking about.

Oh wow. He's an expert. I retract any criticisms I may have made in the past.
