I know what you mean Rick There are things in life I can control -- those are the things worth worrying about. The things I can't control I can't really waste time worrying about. The mountains will still be there next year.

Next big hike is the GC r2r2r.

Next backpacking trip is the AT within the Shenandoah Natl Park (105 miles).

Almost forgot Why? I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment.

Bounce around on objectives based on weather since I climb full time. But my next area in the lower 48 after working out most of Zion-St. George-Red Rocks is Black Canyon-Ouray and Moab. Excited for the change. Guess I am truly a vagabond.

Middle Teton, because I probably won't be able to do the Grand, because it looks cool, and because I want to be able to say, "me, too". I know, I know, everyone does Middle Teton like it's Mt Whitney, or Humphrey In Arizona, but it still looks cool and fun.

To remain on-topic, my next planned "climb" is of mighty, 8,372 ft. Mt. Ingalls. Why? Because it's the Plumas county highpoint.... What an affliction- I can't wait until this is over...

I'm waiting for Chief to finish his FA's so I can go put up 2nd. There's no greater honor than to climb Chief's lines.

Thanks all Dirk, it was a really enjoyable route. It was a good feeling to not only have led the crux pitch, but to have swapped leads with a partner who is becoming more skilled and experienced himself.

re: the other dudes - We were a pitch or two below the summit when we heard voices. My guess is that they came up the west side .. we hadn't seen anyone in the L-shaped couloir all morning, and there was nobody else at Gayley Camp. By the time we got up to the summit they were gone.
