The North Face (German Movie)

by triyoda » Mon Jul 26, 2010 3:27 am

I got this on NetFlix. Personally I thought it was pretty good. Not sure how realistic, but it did not seem too cheesy to me. BTW, if you are not familiar it is about an attempt to climb the North Face of the Eiger in the 1930s.

Any thoughts?

Saw it in the theater a few months ago. Highly recommended. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, even if you already know how the story ends.

It is a great film on all levels. I saw it with some friends who were not familiar with climbing history but were still able to enjoy the drama and setting. I told them about the Eiger attempts ,the successful climb ,and the weird Hitler and Leni Riefenstahl connections .
