Postby The Chief » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:55 am

Anyone been up to the base and had a looks see in the past week or so at either "Ice Nine" or the "Right Side"?

Thanks ahead for any beta....

hooooo man...that stuff looks sweet Chief. You Sierra folks have what I think is justifiably called an embarrassment of riches...

Can't wait 'til I can make it down there again at the end of the summer. Washington granite and Oregon choss-monkeying have their place...but...

Have fun on the ice!

You're putting an aid line up next to Shiela ? A 1 pitch aid line at that.

A1...Really????

Negative!

Shows your local knowledge.

That is spelled SHEILA not Shiela btw. It is obvious that you haven't been on nor ever done Sheila. Cuz had you actually done it, you most certainly would have never made such an ignorant post.

The line was put up in the Spring of 2001 by Mike McGrale (a Local Hardman) and it ISN'T no A1..... "Cracker's" A3+.

Come on up SPORT and get your tough ass on the line and lets you how long you last, clean. The avg size pieces are a #2 & #3 Offset Brassie's, several sections of run out back to back Leeper Cam leap frog moves with the only bomber Cam placement for the entire 2 P's being a #2 Lowe Ball. Love to see your pants as you approach the first head section of #1 heads (6 in a row for the first and then 9 of em for the second section) and Beak sections that will send you 40+ feet onto the second rail platform after the start of Shiela if they blow and zip.

It was originally rated at A4+ then after I Clean Aided it and replaced the heads three years ago, we down graded it to A3+ or C4. Been told that is still a Sandbag number!

It has been a local Aid Test piece since it went up and great aid learning line. Gets your mind and sphincter adjusted real fast!!

More Smart Asses have backed off of it after the first 10' than I can keep track of. Someone even drilled in a bail 1/4er some 20 or so feet into the line. Mike & I have the only complete ascents of both P's. He has one, the FA, and I completed my 7th (the first 6, five of those CLEAN with hand placed Beaks/Peckers, Solo Aiding) yesterday after one of my students started it and then quickly bailed after the first 20 feet and then came upon the over hanging first head section.

Chief, this isn't the first time I've seen you rip somebody a new asshole for not being as knowledgeable, skilled, experienced, or "cool" as you are. You may be ten times the climber that I will ever be, but you're also the only person on this board that I would never climb with.

BTW, I think rwedgy was asking whether you were putting up a ONE-PITCH line, rather than an A-1 line.

But this is a typical Chief response Bob.
