Sweet! Some of those summits look absolutely surreal. Makes me sad I never got a chance to head down there.

It's not too late

! One of the guys in our group was 60 and made it! Peru is pretty inexpensive for what you get. A similar trip to the Himalaya would be a LOT more!

Amazing sunset pics, very impressive. Just curious, what did these climbs cost? I met a guy in Huaraz, Peru when I was there January '09 who had traveled from Texas all the way down to Peru. He saved some money and had hired a guide for $200/day. It was the off season I think and I was curious if those were discount rates or the norm.

That's actually pretty high. About $100-$150/day.

That's very interesting. It's possible that I misunderstood him, maybe he meant $200 for a couple of days. This guy was a serious budget traveler, he temporarily ran out of money in Equador and spent a few days camping on a beach eating peanut butter and bananas until somebody sent some money.

lol, I looked at that "album" widget and it didn't really make sense to me. Was thinking about a couple of trip reports. Maybe I will get to it since you're asking...lol

Yeah, it should be about half of that unless you pick an expensive tour company.
