Well guys... it's happened again. Baby #2 is scheduled for arrival at the end of February. We just found out yesterday that we're having a little girl. We are naming her Nora Shaw Minish. I couldn't be happier. I just realize that it has been a REALLY long time since I last posted. I hope that everyone is still doing well and still spending time in the hills.

Good to see many familiar names are still on SP.

I did indeed finish it... more than I ever wanted to know about the delivery. To tell you the truth, the actual birthing process was about the scariest thing I've ever done. Like all climbers, I've had a few near misses and once I was even certain that was toast. In hind sight, none of those events scared the pure ba-jezz-us out of me like childbirthing. Eghads... I hope number two goes a lot smoother than the first one.

November 21, 2014... Jack Bankston Minish was born. He is now five months old and my wife and I could not be happier! Can't wait to introduce all of my kiddoes to the joys of rocks, snow, skiing, ice, filtered water, fire building, no-see-ums, and Smores.

Marc, welcome to the world of three. Your life is going to become exponentially more expensive and complicated.

But it gets better. Keep your gear ready. My kids are 10, 8, and 6 now, and they all climb. The oldest can belay me now, does multi-pitch trad with me, and actually is a stronger climber than I am. But it makes me proud seeing him kick ass.

Come visit in the sewer. Some of us miss your denunciations of libs!

Becoming a homeowner is what really put a damper on my career. Instead of hiking / climbing, I spent weekends doing plumbing, electrical, masonry, landscaping, flooring, etc. Later my becoming a father helped to redirect my attention back toward the activities that I really loved:

I have 3 kiddos.....7 yr old boy, 5 yr old girl, 3 yr old girl. The 7 and 3 yr olds are animals on the rocks and trails...I love watching them get after it. Kids change things at first but they enrich the experience later. The mountains help you form a distraction free bond that's hard to find elsewhere.
