I've got the tetons on my list of possibilities for a jaunt out west in the first full week of october....

any news on the ice situation up high, and if OS is looking good?

lemme know if any of yer would be interested as well (monday Oct 4 would be the day i'd be after it)

These two sites should give you some good info. The second link is to the weather station at the lower saddle, gives a good indication of possible temps.

I walked through up to 8" of snow and on 4' drifts hiking Peak 11,040'+ in the SW Absaroka on Sunday, 3 days after the last snow. I would guess the Tetons got in excess of 1' of snow out of those storms too. They looked pretty wintery on Friday.
