requesting feedback on first mountain page

Postby snowcave » Sat Sep 18, 2010 12:08 am

just completed my first mountain page. Do I have to do anything to declare/make it officially complete?

requesting feedback on the page, criticisms, standards issues, etc.

thanks.

One thing I learned it that I should start the page out as a custom object so it doesn't show up on radar till I'm ready... oh well. next time.

It looks like a great job to me. I have to be honest-- when I saw the page go up earlier, it had the looks of a page that was going to languish. It's great to be wrong in this case. Thanks for a nice contribution to SummitPost, and I hope we'll see more from you.

So when a mountain page is complete is it standard procedure to announce it in a relevent forum?

There doesn't seem to be any way that new mountain pages are automatically announced.

How does one otherwise find out about new mountain pages.... the only way I see is to go to "mountains and rock", choose advanced search, search on your area of interest and modify the display order to show newer pages first...

It can be helpful to announce a new page in the regional forum.

To see other new pages, check out What's New by clicking on the blue bar at the top of any SP page.

Hit "What's New" link above and/or "Best Mountains/Rocks" link on left of home SP page.

Very few announce a new page in the forums, but hey, nothing stopping you from doing that either. Glad to have your contribution.

Your page has a handful of spelling mistakes, most notably, "Ira Sprint" should be "Ira Spring". Fix up the spelling, and I'll vote.
