Aight well how bout we get back on the topic and move on. My stats aren't as big but i enjoyed every minute of it! I have about 10,486 feet of elevation gain, and around 112 miles. Lets hope this new year brings on a ton of new adventures for everyone. Happy new year!!!!

Not quite a list of stats - more qualitative rather than quantitative, but perhaps in some ways more meaningful to look back on or share with others?

2010 Climbing Log

Perhaps for 2011 I'll include basic mileage and elevation gains stats and make a yearly total for things like that (and/or how many pitches TRed, followed, & led for a given rating)?

Nice job Chris, and since I assume most of those miles were in RMNP I'm jeolous!

I spent a whole 11 days on the trail in 2010 - which is a pretty good by my standards. I don't get very many days on the trail each year, so each one is precious.

But I prefer the spin Moapa and Scotty put on this thread. Once again I introduced several people to hiking with a trip to GSMNP; I helped my son's friend get up his first 14er, besides taking him on his first trip to Colorado; I introduced my son and his friend (and myself) to backpacking, etc. Overall, a good year!

I don't keep track but I know it was easily over 500,000' of vertical. I probably even did a couple thousand of that without a car.

Well I ate Taco Bell the other night with 3 Fat Tires and miraculously didn't gas the poor dog out of the room later that night.
I didn't pay a lot for my current muffler and I actually managed to save 15% (probably more) on my car insurance. And all THAT my friends was accomplished even though I've never set foot in a Holiday Inn Express.

Oh, and for a white guy, I think I can hear 'Jimmy' pretty damn well.

People seem to be all riled up here. I always thought that the point of it all was to go and have a good time, hang out with great people and challenge yourself a bit too...

Had the lowest numbers of the stats that you note in probably thirty years. Climbed 5 peaks although one was actually called a hill.

With that said, I set a new record this year in taking 14 different plane flights for a single summit that I'd been yearning to climb for over 20 years. I also fulfilled a lifelong goal of visiting Venice and Rome (with my family). In the process I climbed to the top of the dome on St. Peter's. What an incredible ascent! Do it if you're ever in Rome (or more specifically, the Vatican).

For these reasons, and a few others that I haven't brought up, 2010 was one of the best years ever in terms of accomplishing my goals and being with wonderful people. Best to all in 2011!

I'm bookmarking this thread for Monday morning coffee hour. Hopefully it isn't deleted by then.

This thread has been cleaned up and is now returned to those who wish to enjoy using it for its intended purpose.

If you count every smaller magnitude hike and "rock' outing I've had in Utah and elsewhere (I only used my more major outings for my 207,700 ft. calculation), then I have somewhere close to 400,000 ft. of vertical elevation gain. Oh, I didn't even calculate in my 12,000 ft. gain dayhike of Iron to Baldy double traverse.

I have no idea and I don't really care to keep track, but I know its a lot!
