Snowbowl to open 12/25 and they have about a 2.5 foot base @ 9500'. There was a lot of blow down or bend over with the storm, so obstacles may exist in the trees. You may be able to Peak ski, but that can change daily. A storm is expected early in the week of 12/26.

Humphrey is in great shape right now. Currently, there are really good tracks to treeline and then stable snow up to the summit. Agassiz is also looking good. I came over from Humphrey to Agassiz via the North Ridge on all snow today. Hiked down to Snowbowl which sucks, but Agassiz is under a rare amount of snow due to thick ice accumulations from that pineapple express last month. The entire western side of the mountain is under a pretty thick amount of rime and ice above 11,500' giving the appearance of more snow than really is there, but also protecting a lot of what has fallen. The ice is slowly eroding from wind and won't be around in a few more weeks. Get it while the gettin's good.

Snowbowl is reporting 119" (of snow) season-to-date.

They also add the following disclaimer:

"Pursuant to the Arizona Ski Safety Act, the ski area assumes no responsibility for the safety and welfare of skiers and snowboarders going beyond the ski area boundary. You are solely responsible for your own safety."

Be careful out there, guys and gals!!

Just an update for people who might be interested, the mountain hasn't seen new snow since the end of 2010 and conditions have deteriorated pretty heavily in the last 4 weeks. There has been a lot of melt back and freezing in the trees, and the wind has blown a lot off the mountain above treeline.

Thank you, Mister Leghorn !

We need another "pineapple express" to come in, and dump another 5 feet on the mountain.

The recent storm brought up to 44 inches of new, dense snow. The mountain is in great shape. Good for getting out on to.
