I've got an Olympus Tough Stylus, which I got when they first came out. It's the only cam that's lasted more than 6 months of hard use. It's going on over 2 years now. The new ones are about the same size, but significantly lighter. Better video quality, but it's HD, and I reckon it ain't built with that in mind, since the battery seems to die pretty quick on my buddy's new one when he films.http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_secti ... tion=tough
I have taken my Olympus cam everywhere. I film and shoot while climbing, canyoneering, swimming, everything.
Casio has some tough cameras coming out. Might want to give them a look. I can't find them in stores around Los Angeles, unfortunately, so I don't know how they perform in person. If they're anything like Casio's G-Shock watches, and they've got a good lens and decent software (on the cam, not computer), they should be the dog's bollocks (great). This is likely what I'm going with when (or if) my Olympus bites the dust.http://www.casio.com/products/Cameras/EXILIM_G/
