Does anybody have news/bets/info on the recent climbing conditions on the St Jean Couloir on Split Mountain in the Eastern Sierra? A couple of my friends are heading up there this coming weekend (30April/1 May).

Dunno about conditions, but a couple well-known Tahoe/Eastern Sierra ski mountaineers were tragically killed on Split in an avalanche just a couple days ago. This was in the east couloir, just next to St. Jean.
