Regional discussion and conditions reports for the Golden State. Please post partners requests and trip plans in the California Climbing Partners forum.
As of 6/10/11, the trail was largely snow-free until the Cottonwood Lakes Basin, then snow coverage was pretty solid. The snow was well consolidated, with very little post-holing. Both Army and New Army Passes were covered in steep snow. The crest from Army Pass up to Langley was mostly snow-free. Crampons and ice axe would be helpful for crossing any of the passes.
