Eastern Sierra conditions from the air

Postby Dizzy » Tue Jun 21, 2011 11:17 pm

I flew my paraglider from Walt's point (Horseshoe Meadows road) to Bishop last week and there are a lot of snow back there. It looks like winter, not summer. Got to 14.5K feet at one point, view was spectacular. Here is a video:

Dizzy,

I found that video to be pretty damn amazing! From my computer screen it's spectacular but I'll bet it doesn't even come close to the perspective you get when you're up there.

p.s. could you please fly the southeast side of Shasta this week to check out the conditions on the Clear Creek route for me? :)

Impressive. Anyone ever think the Sierra seems like a high plateau except for the glacial carves valleys and peaks? It seems from the air the massive high fault-block range takes on the appearance of a long plateau.
