Yes. According to them they needed it because one of them was at first 'hypothermic,' than he was 'tired, cold, and hungry.' The way they asked us was what annoyed me, it was more of an order than a cry for help. BUT, they did get a lot nicer when we asked if they had bivy gear
I think all outdoorsy people have to be sufficient, not need a rescue, get your own ass out of trouble (especially if you need help because you are tired OR HUNGRY!), be well prepared...for hells sake it's 3rd pillar! How in the world would you want to jug up the last pitch (arguably the best pitch in Sierra!).

And I agree, epicclimb should post his thoughts even if it stirs shit up. I would rather have a meaningful discussion about climbing, than look at 20 some threads about different trailheads in CA or other random garbage people post.

only climbers. folks in the gym, cant call them clim... cl... just plastic pullers. i also struggle with the sport clim... sport cli... just cant say those two words in the same sentence. but yeah, climbers are about as close to perfect as it gets... yeah, i know, still plenty of room for improvement.

and it does not sound like there were ANY CLIMBERS in the 3rd Pillar rant. and no way in heck is that last pitch arguably the best in the Sierra... no way jose...

and just because some hacks get up a climb, that does not make them a climber... SHeeeeeeeeeSH!!!!!!!d, or else I guess I can call myself a doctor! I did successfully suture a bad, bad, BAD cut one time on a climb...

That pitch was one of the funnest I cliiii...so far in my young clim...life. No way, it IS the best pitch in the Sierra, SUPERTOPO SAYS SO!!! (sarcasm/joke)
I was wondering who qualifies as a climber in your book? Is it one of those spoiled looking little boys that used to take their family van to yosemite for a year, smoke pot, and these days they spray black and white photos all over ST? Or make a 10 page pornographic thread (on SP) about some little ice climb with scary runouts they did over the winter? The ones that talk about the 'old times', 'dirtbagging,' and how none of these inferior gym rats with sticky rubber out there can relate to them? Do you think Honnold is a climber (he DOES climb in the gym)? Sorry, but a lot of people in the world today (i am sure back than too), cannot simply drop taking care of their parents, job, education, and become a real climber according to your high standard. Wish we all weekend warriors had a chance to do so, and be like you, a real cli...

I do not qualify anyone as a climber till they climbed Cassin Ridge in a push, by the way. So thank god I am talking to an equal clim...here : )

Yay crowds in Tuolumne...

Had an encounter with some (I'm giving the benefit of the doubt) aloof characters this week resulting in some of my gear temporarily changing hands, and thankfully they were still climbing where we had been where they had acquired some of my gear. Honest mistake I hope, but it cost us our objectives for the afternoon.

Thankfully Galen's Crack is never crowded and is an outstanding thrash, none the less, would have preferred to hop on some more classics....

Tuolumne Trollz at it again

HAAAAAAAAAAAA! What a funny ass thread. Including some of the responses from individuals that have never been on or have absolutely no chance in hell of ever getting on (as a second cus they will never get on the sharp end on any of the follosing routes, ha!) let alone climbing OZ or any TM routes of that caliber (VM).

Ultimate two point answer to all this bullshit....

1)Secret Spot FAing!!!

Go find and develop your own area/s, keep it/them to yourself and only those you trust with your life.

2)Or, find routes in the area you are at that NO ONE gets on and are silent classics...

Sunshine

Middle Earth
Serrated Edge

Magical Mystery Tour
Roseanne
Heart of Stone
Night Shift

Chartes
The Coming
Ciebola

Knobulator
Comfortably Numb
Orange Plasma

ETC ETC ETC ETC......

BTW: I find that as time passes, x15x15 and I have sooooooooooo much in common. VM lecturing you as he does I, on the basics of life and how one is supposed to act. Appears that you are also on his "Clown" list... Now that is a funnyass thing Steve.
x15x15 wrote:i was here first so fuck you mentality is alive and well on this board, NICE....

VM: STFU already with your insistent internet twit wanna-be wankerass advice. You know absolutely nothing. Nada. Neit. Nullo. Sayn uu. Nechevo.....

nice post VM. has got to be one of the best, ever... on any forum. i can't figure out why you would even bother with me. you must have bigger fish to fry. your wit is oh so witty...

hmmmm, but i'd say your attempt at sarcasm is more of a spotlight on your ignorance. i wonder how many of us climbers are there for our parents, have a damn good job, higher education, AND were NEVER a weekend warrior hiker like VM???

Proof right there; you and epic are the same pre-pubescent scruff probably jacking off to old pics of Lynn Hill. I have not been rude to "Scraper" but I did razz "epic" for about 20 seconds, so proof again you are both of the same flesh.

Not at all, I actually had some suggestions for you and just made mention of being safe for all. But whatever dude, I don't need to coddle a new-comer with an attitude and something to prove. Go have another slurpy, Junior.
