Due to bad weather yesterday, the race did not go all the way to the Grintovec summit. The goal was set to the Kokrsko sedlo saddle (Cojzova hut, 1793 m), starting from Kamniška Bistrica (600 m).
There were 197 participants from 16 countries.
Best times:
Ahmed Arslan (Turkey) 42:50
David Schneider (Switzerland) 44:26
Robert Krupička (Czech Republik) 46:08

Yep, Bled is a real Tourist resort, and I usually avoid that.
Rowing... ha, great work-out I guess.

Thanks for the link anyway.
Cheers Eric!

I checked on the Mokrica page and in the External Lins section, I opened the "360° view".
And I get this message:

DISPLAY OF VIRTUAL REALITY PANORAMA IS DISABLED DUE THE SLOVENIAN GOVERNMENT INSPECTION

I wonder how come.
Any clues?

EDIT : it came back !

Good find, thanks for sharing.
Yup, sweet flying!

One sees them leaving from the Ceska koca hut and make the ascent to the Grintovec summit.
First flight down to Jezersko.
Next, one sees them crossing from the Ceska koca hut to the Kranjska koca hut (that's where the chopper leaves from).
From there they went up to Ledinski vrh's summit and flew down again to Jezersko.

Thanks borut. Looks like those mountains have some signifigant elevation gain from the valleys.

Here is a gallery of Alpinists from Slovenia that are (were) SummitPost members (unfortunately only few are active on the site). In fact, there are more, but these at least contributed a profile image.

Steve House will again be visiting our neck of the woods - in December, featuring the translation of his book Beyond The Mountain (Onkraj Gora, in Slovenian). First in Maribor. Maribor is the place Steve 'landed' as he first visited Slovenia in the late 1980s (chapter two of the book: The School Of Slovenian Alpinism).
- Maribor: Unionska dvorana Narodnega doma, Dec 8 (19.00 hours)
- Mojstrana: Slovenski planinski muzej (Slovenian Mountaineering Museum), Dec 9 (18.00h)
- Ljubljana: Cankarjev dom, Dec 19 (19.30h)
