Psyched for winter

Postby Deleted User » Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:27 pm

Probably climbers all over the world have a fear of summer being over but also a logical freaky psychedness all over them for the ice and snow which is kicking in

Personally i am looking more forward to winter than the bad feeling over summer being over.

How do you guys feel about it? Longer summer or faster winter?

Psyched for winter. Bring on the ice, snow, cold, and difficult trailhead access. Less people, no bugs.

Summer is the wasted time between winters! Time to sharpen the ice tools!

Yeah I suppose I am. I am not a geographic location of which I really enjoy the wintertime, though. For the last year.....I am looking forward to spring. Which also means I am graduating in a few months. Future winters I have a feeling I will enjoy more.

For clarifications, it rains abotu 42" annually in Corvallis. THats lame.

After seeing this thread I decided to change my profile picture to "My Self in a Winter Scenery Shot". Ok, it was taken during July, but I love winter a lot, and it most certainly felt like winter considering that it was snowing. Also it had the winter silence in the air as well as the crisp coldness.

My knee didn't hurt while I was skiing. My knee hurt when I was hiking.

I'm already imagining lines covered with snow all over the place here... <sigh>

Yeah, I'm weary of this fiddley chess game. Time to wrap up the locking, crimping and edging and get on with the kicking, swinging and hooking. The air is smelling like dry wood in the morning and you can imagine the sweet sound of steel on stone, sickening fear, the crack of ice on your helmet, uncontrollable shivering, screaming barfies... Hell yeah!

Got snowed on Saturday on Lamarck Col and I got really excited. I was with a guy who is a fair weather hiker and I think I actually scared him with my enthusiasm.
