BUMP

I just added a bunch of movies I have been wanting to put up in the gear reviews. Check them out if you want, there are some good films including North Face and The Man Who Skied Down Everest.

If you think of any you have seen that are not in the gear category, please add them!

Feedback is welcome!

Back in the early 70s there was a short movie called " Solo "with a guy named Mike Hoover. Havent seen it around for awhile. Though a bit contrived it is the film that inspired me to be a mountaineer.

That's a good one. The cinematography on this one still blows me away.....

I've watched the full-length version. It's awesome. Chicks climbing hard alpine stuff. awesome. No chest beating. Perfectly humble, fun-looking stuff in spectacular settings. Awesome.

...oh yeah. No shitty music either. Awesome.

Where did you get a chance to see the whole length version? I'd definitely buy this if I could, beautifully done.

Has anyone seen this film called The Asgard Project? It looks interesting, but could be just another group of adrenaline junkies getting their game on.

Luc,

I think you can watch Beyond Gravity online for free still (hulu?). Check out my gear review on it, I posted the links to the site on the page. Its a good film and definitely worth the watch.

Touching the Void was good (book much better) but they spent way to much time showing the guy crawling along the glacier/ice/snow to get down.

Just saw North Face (Nordwand) and really liked it. K2 is another one I really liked.

Some climbing scenes: Deliverance, Shoot to Kill ( Poitier,Alley. Berenger)
5 days last summer (Connery), Here is some pretty good climbing on the Earl Wiggins classic:

I concur, I have watched all the episodes of seasons 1 - 3 and they are pretty darn good. Seems as if Russell Brice is a good guide, truly looks out for the welfare of his climbers. Looking forwards to the upcoming series.
