interesting new durable water repellent?

I wonder how long it will be before this stuff makes its way into dwr coatings for outdoor equipment and clothes.

Hey, that looks awesome! If it maintains the same sort of breathability as a modern DWR-treated softshell, with greatly increased water repellency - goodbye membranes.

So what can we use it on? Anti icing/balling for crampons and other metal tools? Spray for boots? Bottom of tents? No breathability studies yet so I may need to experiment as far as clothes go. Backpack maybe?
