No long. and lat. markers on Google maps

by Noondueler » Sun Dec 04, 2011 9:16 pm

What happened to the little red balloon markers on the google maps for mountain/rock pages etc.. They gave you an easy accurate reading. They pin- pointed peaks on area and range page maps as well. Not only that, Google maps are no longer automatically localized to correspond to a certain area.
I contacted the elves a week ago but haven't heard back.

This was brought up in the 'Report Bugs Here' thread on November 25. So far 9 days and no response.

I've sent Matt an email in case he hasn't checked the threads recently.

I can see the balloons and the coordinates using Firefox 8.0 but not with IE or Google Chrome. See if Firefox works for you in the meantime. If you're already doing that, I don't have better advice for you right now, unfortunately.

Were those coordinates even accurate? I remember trying a few out and being way off.

I've noticed that they are accurate initially but some tended to drift over time for some reason.

Matt thinks the issue is fixed. Let us know if it's not.

Good news! Thanks. Though I wonder if it's any coincidence that embedded videos on Firefox no longer display. Maybe it's just mine, not sure who else has any.
