i have all gear and even a set of loaner ice tools.. old school grivel blanc compacts with goulettes and home made leashes, but they work for alpine slopes
where am i going... and why am i in this handbasket?

Precisely WHERE are you going to climb this headwall? On the talus slope north of Devin's Kitchen?

Si.. Variation 1, I guess they're calling it. Might be fun to climb them all, though... my understanding is that they basically get progressively harder/lamer until Variation 6, which is mostly just a steep snow climb to shitty ridge traverse.
