Thanks for the information, Brian. From my guidebook map it looks like Yeon is about .5 mile north of Trail 425. So my more precise question is: is this terrain from Trail 425 roughly class 2 "cross country" through second growth Douglas fir or something more demanding to reach Yeon Mounain summit? I did some short, easy hikes with my girlfriend Sunday to Elowah Falls and Uppper McCord Creek Falls. And saw the Nesmith Point (Trail 428) Trlhd. So I was thinking of hiking to Nesmith (snow level permitting) and at least checking out approach to Yeon. I might have to wait till June 2012 for my attempt to Yeon.
