Thanks, but I think I'll just delete my profile. I'm on Summitpost most the time, anyway ...

In fact, my wife thinks I'm making LOVE to my computer instead of her, for crying out loud ...

Baarb wrote:Not that long ago most of the users got made moderators while also making the board only available to moderators to post on. The idea was to prevent all the spam that was going on. The explanatory thread is here (http://www.mbpost.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9084). I guess perhaps your profile needs to get added to the mod list.

Oh ? That's news to me. When I clicked on your link, I got this ...

The topic or post you requested does not exist.

Aaaaa ... HOW do I add my profile to the mod list ??? And, WHY all the user-unfriendly confusion :?:

Just saw this thread for the first time. I am t0x0 on MB.

What Baarb said. Between the ancient phpBB2 software and the janky MB registration we could not come up with a more elegant way to stop the insane volumes of spam that had made the site unusable for the past few months. The spam postings had to be stopped completely since each spambot success leads to more spambot registrations. Hence, this user-unfriendly, heavy-handed "solution" as the last resort.

I'll make you a moderator now, lcarreau.

Thank you kindly, Tim. I thought I was "banned" from the forums because I was unable to stay on topic most of the time.

I remember the episode with the Spam. Glad you guys were able to get that MESS (somewhat) straightened out. Have a nice day ..

Tim, are you still there ???

I'm having problems signing into the Site. Can I still use my same user name of "lcarreau," or do I have to use a DIFFERENT one now that I'm a moderator ???

Thanks in advance ..

Name is not Tim.

I could not find your username on MP this morning. Otherwise I would have changed your permissions already. You may have been deleted somehow.

That's what I was afraid of ... but ... not to worry. I can register under a different name. Thanks for your valuable TIME in regards to this matter ..

This was perhaps the biggest reason I stopped posting on mbpost. I was very disappointed with the decision of the admins during that time. :(
I may start posting again on mbpost one of these days, but might need a bit of encouragement.

There was more drama behind this than I assumed. I won't meddle.

Drama is the spice of Life. What would the world be like without drama ... it'd be pretty ass boring.

Hey, no worries. I think I know who deleted me. Thank you, mysterious and uncaring people, who are probably LAUGHING 'bout this right now.

Life goes on, right ...?
