Thanks for the suggestions. Of course, more are always welcome. I think these are still my favorites:

I do like the live version much better though.

Poco's A Good Feelin' To Know is a close second.

Heard about this on NPR a few weeks ago.
Not about Colorado per say but it's pointed at Aspen.

What?! Nobody has mentioned C.W. McCall, yet?

Wolf Creek Pass
Black Bear Road
The Silverton Train

There's nothing like driving up US 550 with a good ol' C.W. McCall casette in the deck.

...another poignant Judy Collins' song with a Colorado flavour: Born To The Breed

"Home through the streets

With you in my arms

Cold winter mornings

In a Colorado town…"

Here is a song two friends of mine wrote several years ago. The is about the Arkansas River which runs through several communities in So. Colorado. This song, first established by Pueblo City Council on Feb. 1, 1977, after 40 years, has been re-recorded is now the County and City Theme Song. All involved acknowledge it is A Tribute to Friendship and a Contribution to enhance this community's Self Esteem.

Excuse me ... doesn't Denver have a "Bavarian Blond Beer District" where the girls pick ripe red apples from a tree ???

In a sense, I moved to Colorado because of a song. My wife and I walked into a bar in Wildwood NJ, in the summer of 1973,on a Sunday afternoon. A band named Sequoia was auditioning and they were playing the Flying Burrito Brothers "Colorado".
We loved the song, the band, and they got the gig. And the rest is history.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned C.W. McCall yet. (edit, someone did) He was once the mayor of Ouray a while back. Most of his songs mention Colorado and the mountains in it; check out the songs Four Wheel Drive, Black Bear Road, Wolf Creek Pass, The Silverton Train, and Comin' back For More (About Alfred Packer).

The bluegrass band Yonder Mountain String Band (from Nederland) have many Colorado themed songs, check out Half Moon Rising, and 40 Miles From Denver.

Surfin Colorado by Robert Burkhardt is another good one.
