It couldn't be the Merced River Gorge, could it?

Those Californians that would surely know must not frequent the SW forum.

Not the Mercedes. Try quoting the image in the California forum and see how quick the response is. I have one more southwest one left too...

Would that be Balloon Dome in the center of the photo? Silver Divide on the left?

Yeah, I was thinking San Joaquin drainage with Kings in the distance.
Edit: if so, far right includes or approaches the geographic center of CA.
