So, plenty of info about Pyramid Mtn fire and evacs near Cascade/Manitou, but does anyone have more info on fire seen from FairPlay that appears to be on Leadville side of Mosquito Pass ???

Oh .... another wildfire in Colorado ? Crudos goes out to all the firefighters having to battle these stubborn hot blazes ... no laughing matter.

There's another burning in Estes Park.

The news just briefly mentioned a fire between Leadville and Copper Mountain. The didn't say much and I missed how large it is.

Inciweb is seeming like the most reliable and accurate source for many fires. I discovered it after tracking the High Park fire, since I live up in Fort Collins.

Since both Sarah and I live within a couple of miles of that fire, we are definitely watching it.

Current refugee count at my house:

3 men (including local climber many of us know!)
5 dogs
2 cats
2 teenagers
A dozen alpacas (with more on the way)

And husband's volunteer engine is primed for call-up to protect structures.

Fast times in our sleepy little village!

I return to Colorado from Utah business trip tonight to help manage the circus!

Hey, Colorado folks. Just wanted to send out some positive vibes and hopes that everything will turn out all right for you. This much fire activity this early in the summer just sucks. There is no other way to describe it. Here's hoping for some rain and cooler temperatures for you all very soon!

I appreciate that. It's good to help friends & community. It just comes naturally. Having someone's stuff in your refrigerator or their dog sleeping on your floor is a small "inconvenience" compared to what our evac'd friends are going through. And...heck, the dozen or so alpacas are keeping the pasture grass trimmed and fertilized.
