Oh .... another wildfire in Colorado ? Crudos goes out to all the firefighters having to battle these stubborn hot blazes ... no laughing matter.

There's another burning in Estes Park.

The news just briefly mentioned a fire between Leadville and Copper Mountain. The didn't say much and I missed how large it is.

Yeah, saw that one start up Saturday.
Inciweb is seeming like the most reliable and accurate source for many fires. I discovered it after tracking the High Park fire, since I live up in Fort Collins.

ETA: It's called the Treasure fire.

Since both Sarah and I live within a couple of miles of that fire, we are definitely watching it.

Current refugee count at my house:

3 men (including local climber many of us know!)
5 dogs
2 cats
2 teenagers
A dozen alpacas (with more on the way)

And husband's volunteer engine is primed for call-up to protect structures.

Fast times in our sleepy little village!

I return to Colorado from Utah business trip tonight to help manage the circus!

Most circuses contain moments of intense drama and suspense .... be careful out there !

Take care, hope it all works out.

Thanks for the well wishes whitetail... Boarding my flight and a bit spooked about what I might see from the air on the approach!

Sarah - I just wanted to offer my thanks to you and your husband for taking care of others, both through opening your home and your husband's volunteer work. People like you and your husband are among the heroes of this.

Hey, Colorado folks. Just wanted to send out some positive vibes and hopes that everything will turn out all right for you. This much fire activity this early in the summer just sucks. There is no other way to describe it. Here's hoping for some rain and cooler temperatures for you all very soon!

:-) I appreciate that. :-) It's good to help friends & community. It just comes naturally. Having someone's stuff in your refrigerator or their dog sleeping on your floor is a small "inconvenience" compared to what our evac'd friends are going through. And...heck, the dozen or so alpacas are keeping the pasture grass trimmed and fertilized. ;-)

A few temporary household denizens:

1. Evac'd Akita from Centennial / Garden of the Gods area:

2. Cannot count the Alpacas...they are from Monument/Tri-Lakes west of I-25:
