Styling Disabled in Pages? Boring...

by Josh Lewis » Wed Oct 12, 2011 2:51 am

I noticed that css styling is disabled in SP content pages, this is disappointing to the artists (aka people who know how to use css). Now I can't style up my pages, tables, and other various things. I know it sounds silly, but if I was able to style things up, it would make content look better. And no I won't throw in lame stuff either if there was styling. Is this for security purposes on SP? :?

Here is an example of what I am after:
http://w3schools.com/css/css_table.asp

I agree with the site that normal tables are boring, what I would like to make is stuff like tables that have beautiful round corners just like this forum has on the edges.

Occasionally I use inline styles, and that seems to work. I'm not so sure if I would want to see SP giving full support to style sheets, because that might result in pages that don't have the look and feel of SP anymore.

Seems as though styling is allowed on profiles, but not pages. :? At least I was able to customize my profile quite a bit by adding drop shadows and such. But sadly I can't fix some table issues in content as a result. :x

Has nothing to do with the elves, actually. That's an issue for Ryle/Josh/Matt to take up or discard.

Just did a experiment which confirms that even though internal styling is disabled on pages, I can do it remotely. This is also known as "External Style Sheet" which works just fine. So I suppose I could just start making style sheets from my own websites and sourcing them to my content. 8)

As long as you don't disable the Summitpost registration page with javascripts and or other obscure code, I think it should be fine :D

Speaking of javascript, I find it strange that the script code including javascript is fine internally which is much more hazardous code but internal css is not allowed. :?
