Heading over Lamarck Col or Haeckel-Wallace in a week, and was wondering how the mosquitos have been this year. Thanks!

West side, mid to late June, terrible. East side late June to July, a few here and there. Whitney area, Wallace lake area, no problems at all.

Myles:

Was over Lamarck at the end of the 4th weekend, and we used minimal bug juice. Came home with a few bites, but no problems through Darwin Bench or EVO Lake/Muir Pass.

Lower locations (LeConte Canyon) were a bit more trying but unimpressive.

Have a blast! Can't wait to go over the col again in a few weeks.

Thanks, both. No worries for us, Moosetracks, we'll be staying high.

Biadh, honey, you know better than to take the easy ones... :D

Take a peek to the south when you're up high Myles. You might see a few orange flashes over the next few weeks... ;)

Oh, wait, is that spraying?

<sigh>

Just back from Kearsarge pass, Vidette Lakes, Center Basin, and saw five skeeters total. Crazy for mid July. Also, in case anyone's wondering, University pass is more tedious w/o snow.

Aaand, I must already be baked. Looked at my original post ... I'll be there in 2 weeks, not a week.

Skeeter report for last week/weekend in upper Sabrina Basin. There were a couple at Midnight and Moonlight lakes, but very well behaved--used the juice the first night, but probably didn't need it. It stayed in the sack the rest of the trip.
