Does anyone know the parking situation in the Agnew Meadows area. Is there trailhead parking available? I see the Agnew Meadows Campground is closed due to the tree blow down, but I'm hoping there's parking for backpackers who arrive before or after shuttle hours.

I've tried calling a few times, but only got the "we're busy" message; so I thought I'd post here just in case someone had been up in that area.

I finally did get through to the Visitor Center and have the answer to my question now.

I was told the parking area is open and driving down there and parking when the shuttle isn't running is fine, but parking spaces are limited and there is no guarantee a space will be available for parking when one arrives at the parking area.

I just looked at the Sierra Challenge and see that Saturday has Leonard Minaret, or other assorted peaks in the vicinity, on the agenda for 30+ people. That's a lot of folks arriving Friday night and early Saturday - thanks for the warning. I'll probably switch to Plan B where I can get a good night's sleep at a less crowded trailhead area.
