Chicagotransplant finishes CO Centennials

by Sarah Simon » Wed Sep 05, 2012 12:26 am

Confirmed Rumor: SP's own ChicagoTransplant finished the top 100 peaks in Colorado on Rio Grand Pyramid.

Congrats, Mike!!! Better hurry up and finish the bicentennials before you grow a beer belly / get fat. :P

Thanks everyone!

It was a fun journey to get to this milestone! I shared the accomplishment with 2 other finishers, my friends Kevin and Sarah, and also "shknbke" from this site hit #99. In total we had 9 in our little summit party, a good group of friends! We probably could have had a few more if it wasn't for the holiday weekend, but alas, a 3-day backpack was ideal for that area and really made for an enjoyable outing!

The Rio Grande Pyramid is certainly a cool peak with phenomenal views of the vast majority of San Juan peaks. I highly recommend a trip there!

As for the bicentennials, yes, I have already made a pretty nice head start on those as well, 2/3 of the next 100 already down, but mostly they are ones that aren't too close to my house and me not being one to "cherry pick" anticipate those 33 remaining will take a few years, but I look forward to trying to pick new ones whenever I can!
