Vertigo

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertigo

Today I felt vertigo when ascending on Risco de los Claveles (2387 m) SW ridge. We've had to descend on the NW flank and then traverse to the other side of the peak. Hopefully we had trodden Peñalara (2429 m) before.

Have you felt it anyday when mountaineering :?: Tell your stories...

I know it but my topic is not about how to fix vertigo...

I actually ecxperience mild vertigo quite often if I do not have a 100% trust on my safety system. With a proper safety, however, I do not feel it at all.

Without a rope and proper footwear I dread to even approach cliffs, actually - which a lot of people who do not climb but know I do think is odd! I think it may be because I think it is completely normal, since climbers at least should be more aware of the dangers.
