Has anyone climbed these recently and have a conditions update? Also interested in the status of the road - specifically, can my Ford Focus still drive to the TH?

I can't give you first hand experience, but the Sawatch is bone dry, so snow will not be an issue. I suspect your vehicle can get to the TH if you carefully pick your way.

The article, yes, I had heard about this. This is the second rescue in that same area in the past few months. I know that I should retrace my steps and descend back over Shav, etc. as it is easy to get lost trying to descend Tab.
