Oh okay, thanks Scott.

I guess I have to wait a bit.

Hello Bob!

Hope you got a great trip and had fun climbs! Welcome back.

Look, I am hoping to adopt this page: http://www.summitpost.org/adolfo-calle/155138
The mountain page needs a lot of updates and a better look too.
I already climbed it so I think I can do a good job.

The owner gave up on SP in 2010 and doesn't answer messages.

I was wondering why it's been so "quiet" on Summitpost.

I get home on the 25th but am back in the Internet world now.

The page is yours. You'll notice Corax has editing privileges. I'd keep him on in that capacity, as his knowledge and experience are always highly valuable.

Thanks Bob, working on the page right now. Take a look if you want, already is much better. And I agree with Corax with the editing privileges, he knows the region even better than me.

Cheers

I know BS is leaving for Yellowstone, but could one of the other Elves help me in removing negative votes from two of my recently re-worked pages,
please :

Thank you in advance. I view "negative votes" as being anything below 6/10.

Wait , I'm not finished ... THESE members have been "inactive" for well over two years ... coming up on three.

How do I go about ADOPTING two of their pages ?

PM the elves and tell them what pages you want. Though if their behavior over the past 24 hours is replicated I do not anticipate that you will have a pleasant experience.

They have been inactive for over 2 years and can hardly be considered active or interested anymore. I have already transferred some of their pages to other people, and with no waiting period or contact attempt, so let me or us know what pages you want to adopt.

I'm up for adopting this page and make some changes on it...
(I already adopted one page from this user, he gave up on SP 4 years ago)

Hello

I obtained permission from Tom Fralich to adopt his Monte Rosa NW Flank page and have completely revised it from scratch and changed the name to "Dufourspitze - Swiss Normal Route". Tom said he was signing over to me - and it has come out that we both jointly own the page. I don't really mind - although all the work there now is my own - but is this how it is done?

The other question is how do I get it into the 'What's New' page? - either as a re-worked page - or as a new route page? It bears no resemblance to what is was before now.

I have posted it in the forums in 'what's new in Europe' and 're-worked pages' - but couldn't see how to access the 'what's new' page - unless this happens automatically?

Here is the new page:

http://www.summitpost.org/dufourspitze-swiss-normal-route/155780

Thanks for your help

best wishes
Mark

Answers:

1. When Tom transferred the page to you, he entered you as owner but did not remove himself. When that happens, the previous owner gets listed as an admin of the page. You can still remove him by going to the Change Privileges tab on the editing bar.

2. Only actual new pages go onto the new list. However, if a reworked page is featured on the front page as such, which I have no doubt yours will be, it also goes onto the list of newly reworked pages. Currently, we update the featured reworked page every two or three days, and there are a few posted the past few days, so I imagine yours will be featured sometime in the next 10 days or so.
