Getting to Mont-Lachat (Mont Blanc)

by James91 » Thu Feb 21, 2013 5:05 am

Hi there, me and my climbing partner are going to climb Mont blanc for the second time this June. We will be climbing from the 9th June onwards. The issue is the Tramway du mont blanc and cable car lifts within Les houches are closed until around the 15th. Is it possible to walk to Mont-Lachat from Les houches without getting the tramway or cable car?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
james

Hi James,

There is a forest path that starts from the small cemetery in Les Houches. It takes you up a forested path overlooking the river on your left. It leads up to a hut called the Baroque Forestiere des Arrandellys and then onto Mont Lachat. Let me know if you need more info. I can email a map if you like.
