Show me your high altitude cooking system

by herdbull » Sun Apr 28, 2013 1:47 pm

Sorry, where are my manners. Please show me your high altitude cooking system/set-up. I guess by high altitude I mean anything over 15K.

In preparing for Aconcagua I'm going through my stove set-up and my spare stove. I have some concerns over windscreens, protection from the elements and just how others have done it. To me pics help tons more than a description and I might get some ideas on how to better be prepared and have a better functioning & more efficient stove.

So lets see 'em cause me is

I use an MSR Pocket Rocket on a Brunton stove base. This allows the stove to be used with a wind screen (I rivetted the MSR wind screen together) and also one can invert the cannister when it is cold to feed gas to the stove directly. I also like to put the cannister in a shallow dish and dribble warm water over it to keep it going in cold weather.
