Hourglass doesn't look that great. Even with the new snow (which is probably gone now), the chute was pretty "dirty" up the center. Good coverage on the sides but bare nearing the top. Be ready to post-hole like crazy on your way out. Snow near Ruby Lake was already disintegrating by 8AM.

Nice Chad, Thanks!

Liking this whole Betalite or whatever it is theory. Those things look pretty slick.

Heading to Bishop Pass tomorrow - peak undetermined but I'm more interested in ground conditions. 20% snow tomorrow too. :)

Be ready for a slop-fest by Long Lake, Deb. From Chocolate Peak yesterday:

It might be soft, but maybe take the snow up to Picture Puzzle?

Sloptacular approach to Goode:

Even the north side of Chocolate had me groveling:

I love my POP workouts (postholing on purpose)...

Can't wait to do some peaks in Sierra. It is getting way too hot in Yosemite.

Ticked off NW Face of Half Dome last weekend!

Well, let me know the next time you skip out of work. I had planned a shorter day since I have a 50-mile bike ride tomorrow, but the snow had other plans for my day - and I did climb Chocolate on my way back from the pass. Wherez the friggin register?
A mosquito bit me on the ear. ?!?!?!

Any ideas on how the Split Mountain couloirs might be shaping up? East or St Jean (both E facing)?

I apologize if this is the wrong place - I'm not sure where to find CA couloir conditions/thoughts.
