by highman » Sun Jun 30, 2013 7:44 am

Hello,

I have just created a photo gallery with my photos and videos from 3 weeks trip to Peru.
You can find here pictures mainly from Huaraz area and Cordillera Huayhuash.
All photos are geotaged so you can easely locate where the pictures/videos have been taken.

Thanks for posting these! Highman; do you have any additional pics of Yerupaja or Sarapo that you'd be willing to share? Also, any information on conditions in the Huayhuash this year? We've heard that there was a very heavy snow load in the Blanca

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. I should have more photos of Yerupaja, but not sure about Sarapo. Do you mean share on summitpost.org? I have a plan to create gallery here, but it is postponed due to lack of time. With regards to conditions, the weather hasn't been so good. Initialy we had a plan to do the alpine circuit, but mainly due to bad wheather conditions( mainly heavy clouds with rain/snow and fog) we had to back on normal valey trial. I suppose that on higher peaks there could be heavy snow, but I can't confirm it.

Take care!

Wojciech

Shottolo: Great shots!!!. Looks what you were lucky and had great sunny weather!

We have'nt climbed any peak in Huayhyas, just Vallanuraju near Huaraz. (good stable conditions 24th May)

Kind Regards,

Wojciech

When did you go? I'm wondering if there is a time of year that offers the best chances of clear skies

We went in late July-August 2013 and had decidedly mixed weather, but never nasty, and seldom even qualifying as miserable. A friend went in 2014 in the exact same window and had spectacularly clear skies day and night. It's a complete crapshoot, but generally, a bit on the later side would seem better
