For those of you in southern California there is a chance to meet two members who hooked up in our casual encounters forum on SP. Vitaliy and Hamik are giving a presentation on their two-month trip to Peru, and if you haven't seen any of the pictures or read either of their blogs yet just know that the outing was pretty impressive and the views... well they were ok too...

It is on the Caltech campus sponsored by the American Alpine Club on Tuesday, November 26 at 7:00 PM... no costs. Someone please go and give them a hug and a kiss for me ok?

Last two were photos of us climbing Chacraraju. First photo was from Alpamayo/Quitaraju trip.

For those who are interested in coming, we will talk about climbing stuff around United States as well (Bugaboos, Mt. Denali, Evolution Traverse c2c). Will include slides from big walls, alpine climbs, ice routes and rock routes. In Cordillera Blanca we successfully climbed 8 peaks above 5000M half of which were above 6000M peaks, as I remember. I hope to be helpful and talk about logistics as well as how accessible climbing in Peru really is. AND encourage everyone to get out on own adventures.

We will talk about:

hanging out


Molesting animals


Posing for camera


Getting pumped above small camming units


Traversing below and on top of scary cornices


Playing with dolls when you are on serious climbs


And for those who can tolerate us talking for two hours there will be free food!!!
