A great virtual friend and mountain lover is gone. RIP Paulo.

I feel that Paulo has had a unique opportunity to prepare for his death that not everyone is given. He's such a positive and joyful personality I don't see how his transition could be negative in any way. It may seem tragic that he died so young and in his prime. Whose to say that what anyone accomplishes in a lifetime depends on any span of years. I doubt the cosmos has seen the last of him! :)

Noondueler, reminds me of a quote that I'm sure Paulo would very much agree with:

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." -Abraham Lincoln

How sad. :(

If anyone wants to write some kind of memorial for his profile page, please let me know and I will add it to his profile.

May I suggest Eric Chu ? He would be great, and I can ask him. What do you think, Scott?

Go ahead and ask him (or anyone else you know that knew PAROFES).

A dreaded day it was. I truly dreaded coming to SP, fearing the worst.

The fight is over. PAROFES wins!

Good, I will.

We were friends on FB. Perhaps a little superficial, but we often exchanged photos, comments, jokes. In short, what we can do in a virtual world.
Is it enough to write a kind of memorial? I do not know, I could try, in collaboration with Eric Chu, we are neighbors.
Let me know what you want exactly and set a deadline.

Thank you Miahi, I have sent an Email to Eric and asked him. May be the two of you could cooperatively do something together.
I don't see any problem with that. All I know is that it must fit within the "profile page" nicely. Something similar to "Rahel Maria Liu" or, "Cyrill" memorials would be great.
Scott has offered to post it on Paulo's profile page.

Condolences to Lili and Paulo's family and friends. He showed courage in life and facing death. He was the kind of man we could all admire.

Rest In Peace Parofes, we'll see you on the summit.

Thanks, Marc. I was in contact with Eric.

Kindred spirit gone to rest. He will be missed.
