AAC President Doug Walker killed

by Alpinist » Tue Jan 05, 2016 4:21 am

Doug Walker was killed in an avalanche December 31st on Granite Mountain in Washington.

Walker was both an entrepreneur and active conservationist. He was President of the American Alpine Club, a former director and chairman of REI, founding president of the Seattle Parks Foundation, and immediate past chair of the governing council of The Wilderness Society. He was also a founder and CEO of a software company.

Sincere condolences to his friends and family. :(
