It is snowing like crazy. So far the snow seems very dry. There is a lot more to come. Here is a shot of my backyard:

Current Mt. Shasta conditions-Road is not plowed past Black Butte and gate is closed past McBride Springs. Not sure when the county plowers will get to these areas. We still have lotssss of snow in town and all around! Mt. Shasta Ski Park http://skipark.com/ is in full operations especially for us POWDER HOUNDS...Happy Holidays!

Road is now plowed to both Bunny Flat and Castle Lake. We're experiencing Spring-like conditions up here as of yesterday, it started to warm up. Corn harvest yesterday and today.

Dug a pit in Powder Bowl on a southern aspect @ 9,000' on the mountain.

ECTX with no weak layers 120cm down (there's still a facet layer down there below 120cm, human trigger is unlikely). Lots of water in the snowpack so keep your eyes open for wet slides on steeper slopes as temperatures continue to warm up over the next week. I've attached a pit profile.
