Sierra Madre Search and Rescue

by mtndonkey » Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:23 am

Anyone out there a current member or been a member? I am looking for some info on what it entails as I am thinking about getting involved. I'd love to learn more about it and get some insights.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

Check this thread over at the San Gab Forum:

http://sangabrielmnts.myfreeforum.org/Sierra_Madre_Search_and_Rescue_SMSR_is_recruiting__about1831.html

There is a member there who tries to recruit for the Sierra Madre SAR.

To compare the Montrose Search & Rescue website spells out their requirements specifically:

Good Luck..A worthy endeavor for sure!

SMSR

For information on the team, visit http://www.smsr.org.

Filling out an application is the starting point for learning about the team and the commitment required, etc. We currently have a training class going that started in March, so we are not actively putting together the next class yet. However, if you are interested, fill out the application so we can get your name in the pipeline.

General requirements are to be at least 25 years old, live within 20 minutes of the rescue station in Sierra Madre, be fit and familiar with and comfortable in the outdoors.
