Hoping for a healthy recovery, Rick. If you need a good PT who'll make you do all your exercises, I've got the number of one on the East Side... :-)

Only met him in passing a couple of times, but that sounds pretty painful. I've spent a lot of time in casts / air boot / braces / etc. myself. Thinking positive thoughts for you Rick :)

Definitely glad it wasn't worse, wish you a speedy recovery Rick! The trails and canyons in CA won't erode quite so quickly for the next few months :?

Experienced climbers don't like rappelling cos that's when you've got the least control, and I agree with them. Glad you're alive Rick and heal up quick!

Except in this case they were canyoneering, Rick's favorite hobby. And there, it's pretty much all about the rappels.

I normally feel maudlin about posting "best wishes" on SP, but... best wishes Rick, you are too nice a guy for injuries. Considering how many miles you have put in, you've beaten the odds way better than the rest of us.

Oh no! Damn Rick - so sorry to hear about this. Please heal properly before you get some crazy ideas to attack hills and holes again. :(

Look on the bright side; I haven't been able to keep up with Rick since 2006. If he visits the local Mtns in 2011, maybe I can show him around without feeling embarrassed.

Sorry to hear about this accident. Glad it wasn't worse, & at least recovery is on the horizon. Hope you heal quickly, Rick, & take care of yourself during the recovery.
