Good stuff. seeing that reminds me of just how awful that movie was. Seriously, what a piece of sh*t.

Yup. All hyped-up Holywood designed to get our $s and make them rich. I hated it, especially the villian. Vote -10

Last week a large group of that consisted of me and my climbing buddies watched this movie and we made a game where we had to drink every time they did something ridiculous.

"WTF, why is he placing cams on top rope? DRINK!"

"Full on sprint at 22,000 feet with a pack on! DRINK!"

"Here is comes, the jump scene! Get Ready! SHOTGUN!"

We killed a 30 rack. T'was a fun night.

Weird thing is that in those first few milliseconds of watching a person above us begin to fall last summer, my mind flashed back to those few frames from vertical limit where the haulbag first goes airborne...remember that distinctly now. The mind can do the strangest things at the strangest moments. One thing for sure, the movie was a piece of shit.

I thought that the 2 English brothers (who were modelled after the Burgess brothers) were a great inspiration!

Not to long ago, a friend asked me to borrow my copy of Vertical Limit and the next day was like, "Wow, have you ever had to take 2 axes and jump across to another wall before? That was awesome!"

My response was something along the lines of "Nope, in the movie, I would definetly have been the girl, I let the other guy jump with my Ice axe then I just magically cross the gap while no one watches."

"USE YOUR AAAXXE!!!
My 3 favorite parts
1. The dad's wistle that he blows to alert the other two that the 2 guys are falling
2. The loud "sching" noice that the cam makes (sounds like sword sound effects) as it continues to slide down the crack
3. The villian flying into base camp, magically acclimated, plus the route on K2 looking like a relatively flat glacier
Maybe thats four things...

Since watching that movie, I always wear a wistle to alert my partners that the party above us anchors have catastrophicly failed...

You guys have spoiled "Avatar" for me. Now I'll be watching the movie for unrealistic effects.

That sounds about 1000 times low.
