Probably some time in the future Everest will be provided with a series of permanent huts, like in the Alps, maybe provided with heating (electric, by wire?), and possibly even with oxygen in places like the present higher camps. Would save a lot of dragging tents back and forth, and no doubt save lives too (as it does in the Alps). Look at the Matterhorn from Zermatt, or the Gornergrat, is it disfigured in the least by the two huts on the Hörnli route? And Everest is much larger compared to the size of a hut!
